We offer three main types of yacht trailers as shown below. In addition, the Trailer-Sailers are an important variation available for lifting keel yachts whilst trailer-trolley systems are also available.
When choosing a trailer the weight of the boat is the most important consideration with due allowance being given to any gear and additional equipment carried. The below designs relate to trailers with a gross weight of no more than 3500kg, that is to say, a boat weighing up to approximately 2850kg.
However, boats may be carried on an Air-Braked Boat Trailer or on a Yard Trolley which can then be occasionally transported on a low loader. Yard trollies are also an option for yachts which are kept in the boatyard over winter.

Bilge Keel yachts are carried on bilge guides which can be adjustable for width. A bow snubber is also fitted.

Lifting Keel yachts are carried on a trailer which supports the weight of the boat on the keel. The hull supports are adjustable both laterally and in height.

Fin Keel yachts are carried on a trailer which supports the weight of the boat on the keel. Taller hull supports are braced but may still be adjustable.

Some lifting keel yachts lend themselves to a Trailer/Sailer design whereby the boat can be easily launched and recovered by two people without immersing the hubs.

With a Trailer/Trolley system the trailer is never immersed in the sea, eliminating maintenance problems with brakes and couplings. However, the combination will be heavier.
All models are fully galvanized including the axles and chock stems. The keel is carried as low as possible, usually 12" above the road, although certain flush bottom boats or boats with wide bilge keels have to be carried higher to clear the mudguards.
All our trailers are built to order and hence we would not supply the same trailer for a wide 20ft one-tonne yacht as we would for a slimmer 27ft yacht of the same weight.
All our yacht trailers are fully E.C. approved with auto-reverse brakes on models over 750kg gross weight and come complete with jockey wheel, lights on extension bars and are fully galvanized. Double row linear contact sealed ball bearings; often known as "sealed for life" bearings are fitted as standard and stainless steel brake cables.
A 12 month warranty is included with every trailer.
With suitable care, the trailer can be immersed for floating on and off. In this case, we strongly recommend that a winch and guide posts are fitted. These are two tall posts at the rear of the trailer, which allow the boat to be positioned easily over the submerged trailer.
All optional extras for our trailers are detailed in the listings.
We offer designs of trailers for powers as follows:

The first is the "PB" range with keel rollers, side bunks, winch and snubber. The boat is supported on its keel whilst the side bunks merely steady it and support the weight of the engine at the stern. This design can be enhanced for launching and recovery
by the addition of tilting keel rollers and bow entry rollers which consists of a row of keel rollers on a tilting rack, and self aligning rollers to centre the boat and support the transom.

The second is the "PR" range which is more sophisticated and features banks of self aligning rollers which allow the hull to roll easily on and off the trailer.
There are up to 88 of these rollers on the larger trailers, plus extra keel rollers, so the load is well spread across the bottom of the boat.
Powerboat trailers with upper decks are also available.
All self aligning rollers and 8" keel rollers are fitted with free running nylon bushes, and stainless steel is used for the keel roller spindles.

All models are fully galvanized including the axles and chock stems. The keel is carried as low as possible, usually 12" above the road. The axles are normally mounted on adjustable carriers so that the correct nose weight for any given vehicle can be obtained.
All our trailers are built to order and hence we would not supply the same trailer for a beamy 20ft., one tonne family cruiser, as we would for a sleek 27ft. sportsboat of the same weight. Our trailer will be built to fit your boat, we do not expect your boat to have to conform to our trailer.
With suitable care the trailer can be immersed for floating on and off, more powerful boats can be driven on. Double row linear contact sealed ball bearings, often know as "sealed for life" bearings are fitted as standard, although taper roller bearings are still available for those who prefer them.
All our powerboat trailers are fully E.C. approved with auto-reverse brakes on models over 750kg. gross weight and come complete with jockey wheel and lights on extension bar.
